Martinus Rukismono become Head of Management Departement

Rukismono Martin, SE, MM., Widya Kartika University Surabaya’s (Uwika) Management Department lecturer, sworn in as the new Head of Management Department (Kaprodi) at the university which is located at Jl Sutorejo North Prima II / 1 Surabaya. Martinus Rukismono Kaprodi replaced the previous management, Dr. Erna Ferrinadewi, SE, MM. This position will last for one year starting from July 1, 2012.

The Head of Management handover ceremony and inauguration were delivered by Uwika Rector, Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, which were attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dra. Eva Johanna, M.Si, Ak, and the entire faculty members of Uwika Management Department.

Before the handover ceremony and inauguration were started, Gembong Baskoro, the rector, in his speech conveyed that the change of leadership was a mean of regeneration. Besides that, it was also meant to give an opportunity for youngsters to be parts of Management Department development.

The Rector advised that the current position of private university is not easy because the competition is getting tougher. Competition is not only among private universities but also public universities (PTN). “Besides the tougher competition, the government has become stricteris in applying the existing rules,” he said.

Rector asked the new Head of Department to do breakthroughs and be focus on the things that can improve the quality of the Management Department. “To the Head, I just ask to work right away, do not waste time on reinventing. Continue previous program, while doing necessary breakthroughs, “he said.

Rector also expressed the hope of the foundation that the entire member of management department must be able to maintain its continuity and history. “That history can be memorized by all of us and future generations”, he said.

At the end of his speech, the Rector, on behalf of the leaderboard and the academic community, expressed his gratitude towards to the former head, Dr. Erna Ferrinadewi, SE, MM. for her sacrifaction and devotion that had been given. For the new Head, Rector congratulated and said good luck in running the working program in the future.
